Birth

Moses was born to a Hebrew women named Jochebed. At that time, the Pharaoh had commanded that all the first-born sons of the Israelites be killed. But, Moses' mother hid him in a reed ark sealed with pitch. She sent it down the Nile, and Moses was taken from the water by the Pharaoh's Daughter. The Princess named him Moses, meaning drawn out of the water, and decided to keep him as her own.
